This shelter took a long time to complete because all the materials were either donated, or salvaged from skips. All the work was also done by volunteers in their spare time.
Rain water is harvested from its roof, and the fireplace will soon be installed to keep us warm and dry in the winter months.
B’lkaar Singh has joined ‘Cultivate Oxford’, a social cooperative which seeks to make locally sourced food available to the people of Oxfordshire. Cultivate sources seasonal and ethical fruit & veg, apple juice, honey and eggs from local farms and delivers around Oxford in their customised ‘veg van’.
By using his own existing delivery network and customer base, B’lkaar Singh has helped Cultivate to expand into 25 villages in Oxfordshire.
Max is our new volunteer. We will help him get his life back on track with mindfulness, horticulture, construction, animal care, and most of all FRIENDSHIP!
As the frost begins to thaw and the sun warms the soil, so begin preparation for the new growing season, with a little help from a friend.
